How long have you lived/worked in the area?
I have been living here for the last 15 years.
Life Story: Short version of where you’re originally from, where you grew up, other places/states/countries you’ve lived in, and what led you to this career.
Well, I was born in Ohio, but I grew up in Knoxville, TN. After living in Kentucky, Georgia and Ohio again as an adult we finally wound up in the Dallas, TX area. I’ve lived longer in Dallas than any one city in my life and I absolutely love it here! I married my second husband, Tommy in June of 2016 and we have 4 children between us. They range in age from 13-21 and there is nothing we love more than hanging out with our kids and extended family.
What was your biggest challenge when starting this career?
The biggest challenge I had when I started my mobile Notary Public business in 2016 was building my client base. I really had to force myself to become a sales person, which isn’t in my normal comfort zone. It turned out that I was so good at it that I started a marketing company for mobile Notaries Public called www.SigningAgentMarketing.com and it’s been a great side-gig for me.
What is the hardest and the best part of your work?
I love working with Borrowers! It’s my immense pleasure to make the experience one of the happiest days of their lives.
If you could advise yourself back when you were 20, what would you say?
Read everything. Don’t rush into adulthood. Challenge yourself regularly.
Who is your ideal customer/client?
I have so many “ideal” partners. I don’t have to hold their hand and am able to be totally upfront and honest with them without fear of losing their business because the truth I’m telling might not be what they want to hear.
What’s your favorite thing in the area? To-do, restaurants, places?
My personal favorite is Oak St. When I got remarried and had to relocate to Coppell, TX. But, I spend a great deal of time on Oak St because it’s just a great place to spend time with all my Trophy Club friends.
What do you see/What would you like to see in the future for the area?
Definitely, Trader Joe’s!
If we come across each other in the town, where would we be and what would you be doing?
I’d be at a friends house in Trophy Club or Roanoke, chatting it up over a glass of wine!
What’s something about you that would surprise most people?
Although, being in a marketing sector the truth is that I’m actually very shy and introverted. I have to force myself out of my shell!
